After taking the series from Seattle behind some extraordinary work from Doc and a sudden offensive outburst, the Blue Jays welcome the Minnesota Twins to town for a 3-game series.
Toronto's pitchers have not allowed a run for 22 innings and Shaun Marcum will hope to extend that tonight after a hard luck start last time out, in which he pitched great through 6 innings, only to sputter in the 7th after his offense could not do a thing against the Yankees pitching. Overall, Marcum is 4-2 with a 3.24 ERA since he became a starter 13 starts ago.
Facing him will be a fellow whose name makes him sound like he should be shredding spanish-infused guitar whilst yodeling.
Lyle Overbay, who has quite an unimpressive record against Santana (1-11 with 8 Ks), sits for Matt Stairs (who also does but at least has a HR), while Curtis Thigpen, fresh up from 'Cuse, makes his first start for the Jays behind the dish. I, for one, am really looking forward to seeing him behind the plate.
For my part, I can't wait to tune in and see if the Jays can pull it out! And now that I've finished the last Harry Potter book, I might as well tune in...
