7/25 Minor League Summary

Syracuse 8, Rochester 1
Jeremy Cummings was solid against his former team as he went 8 strong with 5 Ks. He shares the JotG with Chad Mottola and Mike Vento. Mottola was 3-4 with a double and triple including 2 RBI. Vento was 2 for 3 with two doubles and a walk and 2 RBIs as well.

Portland 5, New Hampshire 3
Boston Red Sox prospect Justin Masterson has the FCats numbers this year going 6.2 IP with 10Ks and just 2 ER. Rob Cosby gets the JotG for getting two hits including a home run. Kyle Yates struggled in this game giving up 8 hits in 6.2IP and ended up giving up 5 runs. He walked 3 and struck out 3. Though he really only had one bad inning in the 4th giving up 4 runs, 3 off a bases clearing double.

Sarasota 5, Dunedin 0
Not much to say but Cory Patton was 2 for 4 with a double to get the JotG.

Tri-City 10, Auburn 5
Also nothing much of note here. Carlos Vasquez went 2 for 3 with a home run and was the only DDay to avoid getting struck out. Arencibia had a rough day going 0 for 4.

GCL Yanks 5, GCL Jays 2
Joel Carreno gets the JotG going 7IP with 8 Ks with 2 unearned runs. He was the hard luck loser. Balbino Fuenmayor had a tough day with his 10th defensive error and got the golden sombrero on an 0-5 night. Eiland and Nicholas had two hits apiece.
