Minor League Summary for July 5-07

The Jays minor league affiliates went an astonishing 6-0 for today and I can't remember the last time they did so. To make things interesting most of the winning runs came in the final inning.

Syracuse 8, Richmond (Atlanta) 7 10 inn.
The offense was on for the Chief however the defense wasn't with 4 errors including 2 Russ Adams fielding errors. Wayne Lydon pitched in with 4 singles in 6 plate appearances, Kevin Barker hit a home run in the top of the 10th to seal the win. Brandon League made an appearance and pitched to something we find more reasonable with 1.2IP and 2Ks.
Jay of the game: Barker for the game winning home run.

New Hampsire 7, Binghamton Mets 5 10 innings
Ricky Romero had a shaky outing going 4IP but only surrending 2 runs (1 earned) but gave 5 hits and 3 walks but on the bright side he did have 6 Ks. On the hitting side the lone Futures game representative for the Jays Robinzon Diaz was 2 for 5 upping his batting average to .325. Ryan Patterson continues his home run streak with the game winning home run in the top of the 10th.
Jay of the game: Ryan Patterson

Dunedin 2, Fort Myers (Minny) 1
Brandon Magee pithced 7.2 solid innings but wasn't dominat allowing 8 hits with 2 walks and only 3Ks but lowering his ERA to 4.12. Cory Patton was 3-4 and Luke Hetherington had 2 hits and Josh Kreuzer was responsible for the game winning home run. Just to balk from giving all the JOG to game winning home runs I'll give it to Brandon Magee

Lansing 5, South Bend (Arizona) 3
Nathan Starner went 6 strong with 5Ks and only 1ER. Scott Campbell and Torontonian Chris Emanuele had two hits. Sean Shoffit also had 2 hits but one provided all the offense with a grand slam in the 5th. Travis Snider had an 0-3 night
Jays of the game: Starner and Shoffit

Auburn 2, Batavia (STL) 1
20-year old Wilfreddy Aguirre pitched 7 strong innings giving up 1 run but had 4ks but it wasn't enough for the win. However the winning run was scored on Darin Mastroianni single. JP Arencibia had another outing with an 0 for 3 night with 2 strikeouts.
Jay of the game: Aguirre

GCL Blue Jays 2, GCL Phillies 1
Brian Letko pitched 4 innings striking out 8 and 1 run scored on a wild pitch. Jonathan Talley was 2-4 with a home run and Bartolo Nicholas singled in the winning run.
Jay of the game: Brian Letko
