Well, after two humiliating defeats at the hands of Nationals, I'm sure now that I'm not going to the game, the Mets will win. Conversely, while I've been away, our heroes have strung together two nice wins against baseball's best team, behind some timely hitting, a power show from our dh, and some fantastic pitching performances.
Today, the Jays chase the sweep with rookies taking the mound for both teams. Jesse Litsch will face the much-lauded Clay Buchholz, who has already thrown a no-hitter. The Jays lineup looks a bit threadbare without Lyle and Glaus, but it is nice to see guys like Lind, Olmedo, and Adams getting some at-bats. There's still no guarantee that Stairs will be back, and I'm really starting to like Adams' potential as a super-utility guy off the bench. He's shown some real talent for hitting line drives and working counts.
Today's game thread brought our way by the legendary Boston band the Pixies, of course! Taking the pooch and the very short stop to the dog park, will be back at gametime for the game!
