With all of the excitement of seeing my first couple workouts of the baseball year, I forgot to mention that BJ Ryan has thrown two bullpen sessions off a mound with no physical problems, and expects to be ready for the beginning of the season. He's scheduled to throw off a mound again on Saturday. Still, with Jeremy Accardo proving he is a capable closer, the Jays may choose not to rush Ryan back.
I would like to see BJ as the Closer for Opening Day, but it really all depends on how he feels during Spring Training. Plus, with BJ as the Closer, Accardo can return to his role of Setup Man, which means Casey 'Tek' Janssen can compete to be the fifth man in the Rotation (a spot he deserves much more than Jesse Litsch, in my opinion).
