Well, being over .500 feels pretty darn good. Jesse Litsch was spectacular yesterday and the Jays scored plenty of runs en route to an easy victory. Litsch ptiched a complete game shutout and just did a great job, although his streak of consecutive innings without a walk finally came to an end (but not before passing Jimmy Key (my favourite all-time Jay) for the Jays all-time record. Brad Wilkerson hit a 1st inning grand slam and Lyle Overbay reached 4 times in four trips to the plate (11 straight appearances, a Jays record of his own that's still going
Today, Dustin McGowan pitches against Gil Meche, who hasn't been very good this season after putting together a great season last year. McGowan really needs to get on track with a good start, as he's been fairly shaky recently. Matt Stairs is back in the lineup after missing a few days with a stiff neck, and it's great to welcome him back.
I'm not sure how much of the game I'll get to watch, as I'm taking my daughter for a hike right now. I'll definitely be around for the second half or so, though. Let's go Jays!
