I would be more excited about the beautiful day that is this Flashback Friday if I wasn't so sick. Trying to run after work just made it worse. Pulling up on the side of the road to cough up blood? Not that fun. Incidentally, also not the best way to impress the coeds jogging in the other direction.
Enough about me though. The Jays have a weekend series against Boston and have a nice chance to make up some ground. Shaun Marcum will have to deal with Paul Byrd, who seems to give us lots of problems. Sounds like I was right about Brad Wilkerson, who was placed on the DL today with back spasms. They must be pretty bad, that's usually a day-to-day thing. Newcomer Jose "Don't Call Me Tony" Bautista takes his place in the lineup, but he isn't starting today. J.P., by the way, confirmed that he did acquire Bautista in large part based on his historical prowess at hitting lefties, so we'll likely see him in the lineup against southpaws. He's got to be better than Mench.
Check out a great fanpost from Bunner playing off Griffin's pronouncements of what he'd do if he were the GM for the Jays, and respond with your comments. I plan to, as soon as I figure out what they should do! I'm a bit up in the air at the moment.
