I like the word sweep, when we are the ones doing the sweeping, hopefully we'll get to talk about it a bunch this year. David Purcey, who had a very good first start last week, starts for the Jays. Anthony Reyes starts for the Indians, so the lefties are back in the line up after a couple of days off. I am hoping Lyle has a good day. Cleveland hasn't had a win yet this season but they'll get their first sometime, just not today.
Around the AL East, while we are all panicky over BJ Ryan, Jonathan Papelbon had a pretty rough 9th yesterday, he gave up a homer, a double and 2 walks to load the bases before getting out of the inning.
The Orioles are having a great start too, 4-1 and against good teams too, playing the Yankees and the Rays. They are just half a game behind us at the moment. The Yankees have won 3 in a row after dropping their first two games. In the interest of fairness I should mention that CC Sabathia had a good start yesterday, since I showed great glee over him getting shelled his first time out.
Tampa Bay and the Red Sox are both 2-3 to start. So the unfortunate thing is no one is falling out of the race early. But then it will be an interesting season.
Anyway, if you aren't too busy getting Easter dinner together, join me in the thread.
