Spring Game Recap, Jays Tie Marlins

Jays 1 Marlins 1

My first chance to see Ricky Romero pitch and boy he didn't disappoint. 5 innings, 4 hits, 1 earned run (because of 2 'wild pitches' that Barrett really should have handled), 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. He worked fast and had 10 groundouts to 2 fly outs. A really good performance, even if he wasn't facing the type of line up he will be in the AL East. The bullpen did well too; Shawn Camp, Brian Tallet, Jesse Carlson and minor leaguer Nathan Starner each pitched a perfect inning.

Offensively we didn't do much. Adam Lind and Kevin Millar each had 2 hits. Aaron Hill, Jose Bautista, Lyle Overbay and Justin Jackson each had a hit. It was good to get to see Jackson play, he looks terrific defensively and looked to have a very quick bat. Both he and Hill made some great plays.

Ofers go to Alex Rios, Vernon Wells, Michael Barrett and Travis Snider

That was the last spring game for the Jays, they are heading up to Toronto now for Opening Day Monday. Halladay will get the start for the Jays.
