That was way less than fun. When Doc loses to Carl Pavano it is a very sad day. Doc looked good but gave up 2 solo homers and then 2 more runs in the 9th, when he likely should have been pulled. He did strike out 9 and only gave up 1 walk, but it wasn't enough tonight.
We only managed 6 hits and 2 walks. We had many chances to score but with Jose Bautista batting second things aren't going break right to score much. I can't understand why Joe Inglett wasn't in that spot. Vernon Wells and Travis Snider had 2 hits each. Marco Scutaro had 1 hit and 2 walks. But Bautista, Lind, Overbay, Barajas and McDonald all had 0 fors. Hard to win when 5 guys don't hit.
Jay of the Day is Travis Snider (.111). Scoot gets honorable mention. Lind (-.204), Overbay (-.187), Bautista (-.182) and Barajas (-.156) get the Suckage award.
The good parts of the game? John McDonald made some nice plays in the field, Travis Snider had some good swings, Vernon had a couple of hits and he and Scoot each stole a base.
Tomorrow the Jays try to get a split of the 4 game series behind Brett Cecil (6-4, 5.46) making his last start of the season. Scott Baker (13-7, 4.34) goes for the Twins. It is a 12:30 Eastern start tomorrow.
