I don’t need to go travelin’ Open my door and the world walks in: Jays at Yankees Game Thread

Our Jays start a two game set in New York tonight with Doc pitching. We'll been playing better ball the last couple of weeks or so, if you can forget last night's finish. We've now tied 3 series in a row. Maybe we can do it again.

Tonight's lineup:

Lineup

Toronto Blue Jays @ New York Yankees

09/15/09 7:05 PM EDT

Toronto Blue Jays New York Yankees
Marco Scutaro - SS Derek Jeter - SS
Aaron Hill - 2B Johnny Damon - LF
Adam Lind - DH Mark Teixeira - 1B
Vernon Wells - CF Alex Rodriguez - 3B
Lyle Overbay - 1B Hideki Matsui - DH
Edwin Encarnacion - 3B Jorge Posada - C
Rod Barajas - C Robinson Cano - 2B
Jose Bautista - RF Nick Swisher - RF
Travis Snider - LF Brett Gardner - CF

It has been several days in a row with no Kevin Millar in the lineup. Of course there is no Randy Ruiz in the lineup either. I honestly wish I could explain it but I can't. In a ball park where every fly ball has a chance of going out, you wouldn't want a guy with power playing.

The title is from Steve Earle's song City of Immigrants from his latest CD Washington Square Serenade, an ode to his new home town of New York.
