Hi all. This is the last weekend of summer, and it really felt like it - warm and sunny, I had a long run and spent the rest of the day repainting our porch. Today's title, from one of my favourite Jonathan Richman songs, felt appropriate. Hope everyone's day was as free and easy.
For the Jays, the season, too, is drawing to a close. Today it's Vernon Wells getting the day off, with Jose Bautista manning centre field, while Johnny Mac plays left. Raul Chavez gets the start behind the dish. Yes, even though a righty is on the mound, Travis Snider is still hitting behind Bautista. At least he's ahead of Chavy and Mac though.
On the mound, it's Ricky Romero for the Jays and Matt Garza for Tampa. Like yesterday's starter, Scott Richmond, Ricky Romero has had a tough time of it as this season draws to a close. He'll try for an effective start today against a tough offense.
