You just hit me where I live, I guess it looked quite primitive - Game 8 ChiSox @ Jays

Well game 1 of the home opener series was a bit of let down in the end. The Jays and the White Sox slugged it out over 11 Innings. They went back and forth until the end Mark Teahen did them in with a triple in the top of the 11th. It was a long and very trying game. You could tell it started to wear on a few of us as the arguments in the game thread about whether or not Booing a player is ok went on.... and on..... and on and on and on...... and yes... on some more. To summarize, some people boo, some people don't but pretty much all of them think the other group is wrong.

I am really looking forward to the game tonight. Not because I miss baseball or anything but because work was just a living nightmare today and baseball let's me escape and even if the Jays do poorly I just always feel better watching baseball. This is especially true is a young pitcher is spinning a gem. So Ricky? Don't let me down. Anyways, do people really think if you yell at them its going to make them want to help you more? Honestly its just like an Umpire, if you start mouthing off you think he is going to give you that low outside corner? Come on people use your head!..... Ok evidently I'm still not over the workday so let's move onto the match-ups

Today the Jays try to even up the series by taking on Gavin Floyd. Ricky Romero is set to take the mound for the Jays and build off his strong start to kick off the season in Texas.

W-L G GS CG SHO SV BS IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP
2010 - Ricky Romero 0-0 1 1 0 0 0 0 7.0 5 1 1 0 2 4 1.29 1.00

2010 - Gavin Floyd 0-0 1 1 0 0 0 0 6.0 5 2 2 0 3 7 3.00 1.33

Floyd had a strong game the first time out throwing 6 innings of 5 hit ball, He did mix in 3 walks but with 7 strikeouts was able to work out of most trouble.

What am I looking out for during today's game? Well really I would Wells and Lind to keep it up and while not necessarily hit them out of the park keep making solid contact and getting the ball in play. Also I really want Romero to continue to roll and shut down the Sox. Lastly? Don't let it be Teahen that beats us again....

There was some debate on language allowed on the site in yesterday's thread. So I just want to clear some things up. Tom posted the guidelines here. Those are the rules to be followed. Specifically this

Profanity is frowned on. We use the line about Hugo's mom reading this a lot, but try to keep George Carlin's 7 words to a minimum. In game threads, well it is sports, things happen. Don't direct profanity at the players. A play may have been %#$%# but calling the player #$#@$# is not allowed.

Just watch what you say. We are all adults here (well mostly I think anyways). And you don't need to spout off curses every second word to get your point across. If it gets to be too much either myself or one of the other authors/site admins will say something. If we say something don't take it personal we are just trying to maintain a specific atmosphere at the site.

Let's keep it Civil and GO JAYS GO!
