After not getting anything done in the Angels series we have come back to win the first two of this series and shoot for the sweep today. EXCELLENT! We are going to be in tough though. We are up against last year's Cy Young Award winner Zach Greinke. BOGUS! But it's ok because we have Wells and he is hitting like his old all-star self. AWESOME *air guitar solo*
Things have gone our way in the early parts of this series. A strong pitching performance from Morrow in the opener and the bats came alive to score 8. Then in game 2 we have very timely hitting to pull ahead 4-3 in the 7th after a lead off double from Wells *air guitar solo*, before Camp, Frasor and Gregg shut things down although not without a bit of excitement.
Matching up against Greinke is our own ace Shaun Marcum. Marcum has been great for us this year coming back from surgery. The 4.05 ERA is misleading as he really has been good as evident from his 1.00 WHIP and the just under 6:1 K:BB ratio.
Greinke has been a hard luck loser so far this year with his 0-2 record. He has limited the damage but has given up way to many baserunners by allowing more then a hit per inning. Luckily the Royals offense can be bad at the best of times so hopefully we won't need to score much to get the job done. So far this year a few pitchers have used the Jays as their bounceback starts so maybe we can avoid that this time.
Tune in after the jump for Series info and maybe lineups. I will be at work when the thread goes lie and depending on whats going on I may not make it back to the thread to update with the lineups. So if they aren't there if someone could post them that would be like totally awesome. (Hey I remembered to do it! *air guitar solo*)
Be Excellent to each other and Go Jays Go
Today's title comes from the most excellent Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Whoa.
