Sunday Bantering: Randy Ruiz and yesterday in the minors.

So we get a Ruiz sighting. I don't know what we are going to do without his in game twittering. He is batting 7th behind Bautista and Gonzalez. I wonder how long it will be before Cito notices that Gonzalez isn't hitting. In his last 8 games he is 6 for 33, a .181 average. I'm glad we have gotten past the idea that Ruiz can't play first. Course with our luck ruiz will let a ball go thru his legs and we won't see him at first again this year.

There are a few other changes to our regular line up. Mike McCoy is playing LF and leading off, Molina is catching, John McDonald will play 3B and Bautista gets RF. Snider gets a day off.

Over in the Star someone named Sandro Contenta has a stupid piece asking if the Jays can 'survive in Toronto'. Just a suggestion, but if you are trying to make a case about whether a team can make it in a city, don't talk to a scalper.

Apparently Adeiny Hechavarria has met up with the team in Tampa Bay and is taking batting practice today. I which I was there to watch.

Brad Mills had another good start in Vegas, 7 innings 4 hits, 2 runs, 8 K. Josh Roenicke pitch 2 scoreless innings to bring his total up to 8.2 scoreless innings. Unfortunately for Mill his team didn't score for him and he took the loss.

Kyle Drabek had a good start for New Hampshire, going 5.2 shut out innings with 2 hits, 3 walks and 7 K.  Thames, Loewen and Jeroloman each had 2 hits in the win. Jeroloman is hitting .372. I wonder if he could get a call up to Vegas at some point. Thames is hitting .310. Loewen is hitting just .227 but does have a ..346 OBP.

Andrew Liebel didn't have as great a start in Dunedin 5 innings, 3 runs for the loss. d'Arnaud went 0 for 3 but is heading .328 with 3 home runs in 16 games.

Catcher A.J. Jimenez was 2 for 4 with Lansing, he is hitting .429 just in 5 games though. Sean Ochinko went 3 for 5 with a homer, hitting .271 on the season. Mark Sobolewski is having a great start to the season, hitting .333 with 2 homers.
