For the first time this year one of the usual suspects (See what I did there?) role into the big smoke to take on our hometown heroes. Let's make sure that at the end of the game we aren't sitting there wondering "What the heck just happened?"
So far this year Boston hasn't been great going 8 for 11, but regardless they are still a tough team even with the injuries to their outfield. That means we need to be on top of our game. Using every weapon in our arsenal, Bullpen and Bench players need to be at the top of their game. You hear that Ruiz!?! No more tweeting from the bench you may be called upon to pinch hit at any moment!... Just kidding now get me a coffee.
Seriously though, Let's hope Eveland, Marcum and Cecil all pick now to throw their first Complete games or at the least go 8 innings and give the ball to Gregg. Im not asking for much.
Today we draw Josh Beckett who is the number 1 in the Sox rotation. So far this year like most of the Sox he has not been good but he does have the ability to completely shut a team now. This could be especially dangerous for us since Beckett is a bit of a power pitcher and with our penchant for striking out... Hm.
For the BlueBirds we have our early season surprise Dana Eveland will take the mound hoping to continue his early season success. His last start was not as good as the first but he was far from bad. This will be his first real test so it should be interesting to watch to see if he can compete with the big boys in the AL East.
