One of those nights when batting practice just continues into the game. Game 20 Thread, Sox @ Jays.

I thought that Ken Singleton quote described last night's game pretty much perfectly.

I would like to think that today, with Shawn Marcum and Clay Buchholtz starting, less than 25 runs will be scored. Clay has made 3 starts for the BoSox, this year, and is 1-2 with a 2.70 ERA. He has given up 16 hits in 16.2 innings, with 7 walks and 18 Ks. Since we are averaging about a strikeout an inning and Clay doing a bit better than that, we might see the odd K.

Marcum is 4-2 with a 3.67 ERA career against Boston. Of course that was before Tommy John Surgery.

It is also the first Thwipping Tuesday, were folks are encouraged to go to the game and Thwip like there is no tomorrow. There will be prizes and contests. Fastest thwips and most thwips per inning. Who can say the least in 140 characters. Actually I'm making that up, but there will be prizes.

Jordan Bastian, who likely will win all the most thwips prizes, tells us that Rommie Lewis and Josh Roenicke have arrived in Toronto and will be available. He also has this little nugget:

Cito said the Jays made an "organizational commitment" to Overbay as a full-time player and intends on being true to their word.

I'm not sure how we would make an "organization commitment" to letting a guy that can't hit lefties play everyday. I do think it is interesting that the excuse for playing him everyday changes. Before it was because Ruiz 'couldn't' play first. Now the organization committed to playing him.

Lineups after the jump.
