Here is the press release:BLUE JAYS DISABLE SNIDER

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have placed OF TRAVIS SNIDER on the 15-day disabled list today (retro to May 15), with a sprained right wrist and will activate 3B EDWIN ENCARNACION from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday May 18.

SNIDER, 22, appeared in 33 games this season, posting a .241 average with six home runs and 15 RBI. The Kirkland, Washington native has been enjoying a strong May, batting .378 in 12 games with three home runs and 10 RBI, and now has 17 home runs in 134 career games.

ENCARNACION, 27, was disabled on April 23 (retro-active to Apr. 15) with right shoulder soreness. The right-handed hitting third basemen was batting .219 with one home run and five RBI in only nine contests this season prior to going on the disabled list. A native of La Romana, Dominican Republic, Encarnacion has a career .259 average with 80 home runs and 291 RBI.

Tom Back: Very sad for Snider. Works out sort of well for the Jays, they don't have to make a choice on EE or Jose in the lineup.
