It's not fair.
Everything was just starting to click. Snider was starting to hit like we knew he could and then BAM good ol Murphy's Law shows up. Stupid everything. When the BlueJay twitter feed announced the lineup that once again showed that Snider would be sitting out I got a real bad feeling. Couldn't really explain it and I had no proof but I was thinking that Snider was going to take a DL trip. This was one of those times I really wished I was wrong. The situation did present management with a good opportunity to active Encarnacion from the DL without making a decision on the rest of the roster, but I wish it didn't have to happen this way.
Today we send out number 5 starter to the mound Dana Eveland. He has had an up and down season but in all honesty he has been pretty good for a 5th starter. He has done everything we have asked of him. He will be taking on Kevin Slowey of the Twins. The numbers are actually pretty comparable across the board with Slowey showing a bit more control with less BB but more SO and with Eveland keeping the ball in the yard a bit more.
Slowey has given up 6 HRs to date on the year in 7 starts. I like the odds that we hit at least one or more against him today. Go Team Power Hitters!
As for the Lineup... well Snider is out with the DL stint (grumble grumble). Lind moves back into the field to play LF and Ruiz is in as DH batting ninth. Everything else stays the same.
Full Lineups after the jump.
Keep it Civil and Go Jays Go
