We are on game 3 of our road trip which see us start our inter-league schedule. I don't like inter-league... or rather I don't like the rules with inter-league. It seems so ridiculous that two groups of teams within the same sport have different rules. Truth be told I prefer the American league style of play with the DH, I know a lot of people prefer the "purity" of the National League game but I just can't get behind it. Having the pitcher and what is almost a sure out at the end of the lineup makes things less exciting for me. What is the strategy in reaching the end of the lineup intentionally walking a weak hitting 8th spot to get to the pitcher. Yah. Fun.
I don't really know a lot about the National League teams so they are always a surprise for me. I know the bigger names but where as I have a decent idea of what to expect throughout most lineups in our league I am totally lost here. I guess that makes the games at least somewhat exciting even if we do have the pitchers batting.
On the hill we have Dr.Jekyll (I hope) taking on Dan Haren. Last start was a good one for Morrow and hopefully he doesn't revert to a good start bad start routine. We need him to string together a good stretch and the truth is that he needs it too. If he doesn't there are plenty of people that are waiting in the wings to take his spot even with the Jays Management backing him.
Like I said earlier I don't know as many players from the NL, but Haren I do know. When he is on he is good. So let's make sure the Jays are as good as they have been.
Bottom line? Arizona has one of the worst records in all of the NL. We need to take advantage.
Surprises for the lineup? Lind is sitting, Cito has said that Lind will play LF "mostly" during inter-league. Bautista is moved up to the 3 spot.
Tune in after the jump for lineups.
Keep it Civil and Go Jays Go
