Interleague continues as the Cards roll into town to take on the beloved home town heroes. The Jays have been playing better of late taking 4 of their last 6 winning series against both the Padres and the Giants. All in all we have been treated to some highly entertaining baseball. Not only that, but even on our off day AA was able to keep us busy and talkative by DFA'ing Edwin Encarnacion. I am going to link to this one more time since I may not get a chance to again. ENCARNACION!
Today Cecil takes the mound and well you all know my feelings on Cecil so I am looking forward to game just like I do whenever he pitches. He takes on Jaime Garcia from the Cards, Garcia is a lefty who is having a hell of a year. Check out these stats...
So yet again we have to take on a pitcher who just has everything clicking. He is only 24 but this is his first full year as a starter in the bigs and he looks like he is taking it well. Almost a full 2-1 K:BB Ratio. Crazy ERA and on average going at least 6 innings into each game.
Aside from facing a hot pitcher we get to face the forever intimidating Albert Pujols and great hitter Matt Holliday. So far on the season the Cards have pretty much the same record as us so this has the potential to be a great series. In our lineup we have the same old same old (Aside from that whole new 3rd Basemen thing. Gonzalez batting 5th followed by Bautista, Overbay, Buck and now.... Hoffpauir.
One last note, Our fellow Bluebird Banterers Tom, Carm and No Bunting are in Toronto for this series. I hope the trip in was non-eventful and traveling downtown was easier then expected. Enjoy the game guys! It's Twitter Tuesday so follow along at #tweetingtuesdays. And hopefully the weather in Toronto clears up and they crack the Dome because currently all reports that I have seen have said closed and Blue Jays Twitter feed says the decision is on hold.
Tune in after the jump for Series Info and Lineups.
Keep it Civil and Go Jays Go
