Things have been rough on our Jays lately. They haven't been playing the greatest and even when they do seem to hit the ball well it is right at people. Our pitching for the most part has still been ok, but even there we haven't been immune with Cecil really falling hard over his past 3 starts and Litsch struggling with consistency since his recall. It's time like this that you really hope the lineup picks it up and unfortunately we just haven't seen that. This series like the perfect time to turn things around since the Indians had only won something like 2 of their previous 15 but as you saw in game 1 you just can't take anything for granted, because all it took was a suicide squeeze and we were done for. Today has to be better. And it will be. Or I'm breaking out the hammer again.
On the mound today we have Morrow taking on Carmona. We did face Carmona earlier this year. We ended up winning that game 5-4 but that was really only after Carmona left. He went 6.1 innings against us surrending 7 hits, 4 Walks but only 2ER. He had two strikeouts against us during the game as well. Let's hope he doesn't have the luck in getting out of tight jams today. Carmona is in the midst of a bounceback season and his 6-6 record doesn't really reflect how well he has pitched overall.
Morrow returns to the bump to continue his series of strong starts. He has put together 5 good to great starts and you have to go back a full month to the last time he really performed poorly. Somewhere harkening is beaming and saying Told ya so.
For our lineup there are a few changes. McDonald gets another start, just this time it isn't in Left Field. He takes over for Hoffpauir at 3rd base and bats 9th. Molina is in the lineup to continue his string of starts catching Morrow. They have really meshed well together. Molina will bat 8th just in front of McDonald.
Tune in after the jump for full lineups and Series info.
