My intention has only been to entertain, nothing more - Gm 90 - Jays @ Orioles

Hello again everyone! Long time no talk. I have been quite busy and have a bit of an up and down vacation. It started off good and ended pretty badly. Hey... that sounds like the Jays season so far. All of the game info is after the jump, so if you want you can just skip ahead.

Just before I left on my vacation I got the good news that I got the new job I applied for, it will definitely be a much harder challenge but it always comes with a bigger paycheque and that is always nice. Next to kick off my vacation my family arrives from Nova Scotia, I haven't seen them since this time last year when they came up for my girls 1st birthday so since we don't get to see each other very often it is always nice. We spent the week running this way and that way, had a great Canada Day watching fireworks with family before having the girls birthday party on July the 4th. After the party there was a day of relaxation then more running around as we visited parks and playgrounds around the city so the girls could play and my parents could get lots of pictures. Lastly, exactly a week ago today on Friday the 9th we headed up to a smallish local Zoo about an hour out of the city. We rented a small pull wagon to pull the girls around and they had a blast..... right up until the point one of them fell out the back of it and broke her arm.

Poor little thing broke her arm in a spot they couldn't even cast it, so it was a sling and painkillers to get it through it. I can tell you there is not a worse feeling in this world then watching your little one look like a zombie as the drugs take a hold. But hey, we are a week into the injury she is healing quick (apparently Toddlers heal like Wolverine. Who knew), Bone should be healed in another week and in another 2-3 weeks it will be like it never happened. She is off the drugs and is acting like herself so everything is a lot better.

So with everything that happened. I can't tell you how great it is going to be to just kick back with a drink, watch this game and just be entertained without having to worry about all the other stuff.

Check after the jump for lineups, and pitchers info.

For the game today, we have one of our first half aces taking the mound against the lackluster Orioles. This is a nice way to kick off the (unofficial) second half. Ricky Romero gets to toe the rubber against Brad Bergesen

W-L G GS CG SHO SV BS IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP
2010 - Ricky Romero 6-6 18 18 2 1 0 0 116.1 108 53 48 8 46 108 3.71 1.32

W-L G GS CG SHO SV BS IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP
2010 - Brad Bergesen 3-6 15 13 0 0 0 0 71.2 97 58 51 11 23 24 6.40 1.67

Clearly, Romero had the better first half. Last year he tired down the stretch which resulted in him leaving a lot of pitches up near the end of the year and getting hit hard. Hopefully with the extra year under his belt he should be able to string together a strong full year.

For everyone hoping to see Snider in the first game back I am sorry to have to disappoint you. Apparently he has not been activated and is still on his rehab assignment, However the Blue Jays have to do something with him by Monday at which point I would have to think he would likely be activated then. With the exception of Escobar changing places with Gonzalez the Blue Jays will trot out about the same lineup that we saw before the break. It would be nice to see Escobar get a few hits in his first game. Otherwise I am sure we will see a few more doom and gloom comments and about this was a horrible trade. But then again Blair seems to complain about everything now. Man that shtick gets old fast.
