Jose Bautista is a monster, he terminates everything in his path (see what I did there?) and as much as it was thought impossible at the start of the season it looks like he is on a pace to become the first Jay in history to crack the 50 HR mark. Simply Amazing. Looking back at the start of the season it seems the arguments I was having saying Bautista should be a platoon player seems silly now. Apart from the whole increase in power the biggest reason for Bautista's turnaround this season is his new found ability to hit right handed pitching. What a turnaround for the Jays MVP, Makes you wonder how AA is going to handle the contract situation in the off-season.
On the mound today we have our fireballer Brandon Morrow taking on Alfredo Figaro who I have to admit I had never heard of before now. Figaro hasn't started a game this season for the Tigers yet but has appeared in 3 relief appearances which haven't gone over exactly great. Morrow is still looking for his 10th win on the season as he looks to continue to rack up his strikeout numbers. I have to admit as much as I appreciate watching a pitching systematically get through a lineup with lots of groundballs, it is fun to watch a pitcher mow down the competition with Strikeout after strikeout.
We have a few lineup changes today as Lyle Overbay takes a seat. Lind moves out of the DH spot and over to first base. Lewis is in the DH spot and leading off. And Snider is playing LF while batting 7th (in Overbay's usual spot). With Morrow on the mound Molina is behind the plate batting 9th which bumps EE up to 8th.
