Does anyone else sometimes picture the Steinbrenner family sitting around in a tall room with tall high back leather chairs, secretly plotting the demise to all of baseball and the rise to their Superpower Yankees that will eventually try to take over the world? All the while roaring with evil and horrible laughter? No? Just me? Ok then carry on.
Today is game 2 of the Yanks and Jays series, we took game 1 in a great game to watch. The game thread last night was a lot of fun too, hopefully a lot of people will be able to stick around for tonight as well. On the mound we have one of our future "aces" in Romero taking on Dustin Moseley (who??). Romero has had two starts against the Yankees so far this season and they have been the polar opposites. In one start he went 8 strong innings shutting down the Yanks and holding them to just two runs. The other start that came more recently was not so good. He only lasted 2+ innings while getting shelled for 8 runs. So if the pattern holds (no one dare mention small sample sizes) tonight should be an 8 inning performance! I can't see any other possible outcome.
For the lineup, Cito continues his minor tinkering and tonight we are going to be treated to Lind's first professional start at 1st base. Lewis will remain in the DH spot with Snider, Wells and Bautista in the outfield. Today Snider is batting 8th, in front of EE but behind Buck.
Tune in after the jump for lineups and series info
