It's Cito's last home game, as much as I have complained about the guy I tip my hat to him. The Jays were such a big part of my life when I was a youngin and Cito was always front and center in all of the team pictures. I wonder if my parents still have all my old Blue Jay stuff.....
Anyways, Cito in honour of your last home game with our beloved Blue Birds I promise I will not criticize or bad mouth you in any way today. This is the not the time for that. Today is a time to remember all of the good you have done and trust me you have done a lot. So here's to you!
Tonight Javier Vasquez goes for the Yankees as they look to set up their rotation in the post season. He takes on Brett Cecil who goes in search of his 15th win on the season to close out the campaign. Cecil has certainly had his up and downs this year but overall I like what he has done. I would like to see if he can develop more of a strikeout pitch over the winter as that is the one part of his game I don't like, but an out is an out regardless of how it comes I just like having pitchers with the ability to miss bats as it can help out in a jam.
After clinching the playoff birth yesterday the Yankees have decided to rest some of their regulars as the bottom half of their lineup has been swapped out. For the Jays, Hill gets back into a game after his benching to rest his mind. Lind is back in at DH and JP moves back to the bench. Johnny Mac gets another start at 3B and bats 9th as Edwin takes a seat for the game as well.
Tune in after the jump for full lineups and Game Info
Cheers Cito! Regardless of what was said this year people will always look back and remember your legacy as the manager who brought the Jays to the promised land back in the "good ol days". I raise my glass to you and wish you the best of luck in whatever you do in the future whether that be with the Jays or just relaxing in retirement.
Keep it Civil and Go Jays Go
