Scott Podnesnik is going to miss some spring training time with plantar faciatis. No suggestion of how long he'll be out but he missed most of the last month of last season with the same troubles. It is something that can be very painful, making it hard to walk or run.
I did want to point out this bit for the story:
Farrell said he doubts the Jays signed Podsednik after the veteran outfielder came down with the injury.
"It's my understanding he got it the day after he signed," Farrell said.
You think so? I thought plantar faciatis is something that develops over time. I have a hard time believing that one day he didn't have it and then the next day he did and needed a walking boot for it.
