Since we've had the second last set of cuts, we know what our 25 man roster is going to be, barring injury in the last few days. There are 27 players left in camp, but we know that Jon Diaz and Ryan Buddie won't be on the on the team heading to Toronto.
So our starting lineup is exactly what we knew it would be going into camp:
C: J.P. Arencibia
1B: Adam Lind
2B Aaron Hill
3B: Jose Bautista
SS: Yunel Escobar
LF: Travis Snider
CF: Rajai Davis
RF: Juan Rivera
DH: Edwin Encarnacion
Our Bench: Jose Molina, John McDonald, Mike McCoy and Corey Patterson (at least until Scott Posednik is ready to play).
Starting Pitchers (at least once through the order, apparently Brandon Morrow's arm is ok and he will start throwing again right away): Ricky Romero, Kyle Drabek, Brett Cecil, Jesse Litsch and Jo-Jo Reyes.
Bullpen: Jon Rauch, Jason Frasor, Shawn Camp, Casey Janssen, Carlos Villanueva, Marc Rzepczynski and David Purcey.
On the DL we have Brandon Morrow, Frank Francisco, Octavio Dotel, Jesse Carlson and Dustin McGowan. The Jays will have some interesting decisions when the first three on that list are ready to come off the DL. Can add Scott Posednik onto the injured group, he doesn't have to go on the DL because he was NRI, but he is still around and when he is ready to play, he'll likely have a rehab time in Vegas then, well it will depend how Corey Patterson and Mike McCoy are doing at that time.
The guys that I didn't expect to make the team, before the start of spring, are: Jo-Jo, Patterson and Villanueva who were all helped by injury to other players. And, course, I never expected Scrabble to be part of the bullpen. Without the injuries to Francisco and Dotel, I really would be curious if which of Rzep or Purcey would have made the team. Purcey had a lousy spring but is out of options. John Farrell speaks in glowing terms of Scrabble but he really was on the bubble. I'd rather have Marc than David but there is a good chance someone would pickup Purcey if the team tried to waive him to the minors, even with the poor spring.
So what do you think about our roster?
