The Rays are here. Joys of Joys.
There is some good news though. The question was asked before the Red Sox series on what would you rather? A team that is struggling and bound to break out? Or a team on a decent run and due for a slip up? Woo Gamblers Fallacy!
The Jays continue their 5 game homestand with a 3 set against the Rays this weekend, we will be taking on Jeremy Hellickson tonight, but honestly since their slow start only Niemann in their rotation hasn't shown the flashes of brilliance people were expecting. He takes on Jo Jo Reyes. Im not exactly filled with confidence, I don't want to get into it too much since I have already made my feelings on the subject quite well known, Im just gonna cross my fingers and hope for the best. If he executes like he did in Spring Training he can be effective. Keep an eye on his pitches if they start flying up in the zone ala Cecil look out.
Lineups in from Gregor Chisholm
#BlueJays lineup vs Rays: Escobar SS, Patterson CF, Bautista RF, Lind 1B, Encarnacion 3B, Arencibia C, Snider LF, Rivera DH, Nix 2B
For the Rays
4/22/2011 Rays vs Blue Jays lineup: LF Fuld, DH Damon, CF Upton, 3B Lopez, 2B Rodriguez, RF Zobrist, 1B D Johnson, C Shoppach, SS E Johnson
Interesting Notes, Hill still out, MRI was done and strained Hamstring there is a lot of talk that his recovery has plateau'd and a trip the DL seems very likely.
Rivera and EE will play every game this series according to Farrell and will shift around defensively as required
And it appears JPA is now catching Reyes. Good call for those who mentioned it.
Keep it Civil and GO JAYS GO!
