Gotta love walk offs. I imagine most fans are still buzzing from the late inning heroics last night by John McDonald, I know when they cut to the broadcast booth they have set up on the concourse in Rogers it sounded like people were having a good time.
Today, we have the highly anticipated season debut of Brandon Morrow. He will take on David Price who continues to be every bit the all-star that he was advertised to be. This could be quite a pitching matchup to watch, hopefully Brandon won't have any rust from the early season layoff. The last time Morrow faced the Rays he was completely dominant. I am sure we all remember that start. Complete Game 1 hitter, 17Ks one of the most dominant pitching performances of all time (according to that ESPN pitching calc thingamagig). The last time Price faced the Jays he was pretty spectacular as well going 8 strong giving up only 4Hs 2BB and 7Ks. I will tell you one thing, if both of these guys can locate their fastball we are going to see a lot of whiffs in this one.
Lineups!
For the Rays
#Rays lineup vs. #Bluejays: Fuld LF, Damon DH, Joyce RF, Zobrist 2B, Upton CF, Kotchman 1B, Jaso C, Rodriguez 3B, Brignac SS - Price v Morrow
For the Jays
#Bluejays line-up v #rays: Escobar6, Patterson8, Bautista9, Encarnacion5, Lind3, Molina2, Rivera0, McDonald4, McCoy7 - Morrow v. Price
Interesting notes, McCoy gets into the lineup immediately as he takes Nix spot in the lineup. Encarnacion has been bumped up to the cleanup spot dropping Lind back to the 5th spot in the lineup. I have a feeling this has more to do with facing Price rather then Lind being punished but still seems a bit weird.
Overall not lineup that will inspire the fans into thinking we are going to score a lot of runs. We will have some pinch hitters later in the game available with Travis Snider and J.P. Arencibia on the bench, of course I doubt we see Snider unless we can knock Price out of the game.
It's time to keep up the pressure and take the 2-0 series lead!
Keep it Civil and Go Jays Go
