Blue Jays 6 Rangers 4
All our offense came in the 6th inning on home runs, reminds me of last year's team. Corey Patterson hit a 3 run shot, then a Jose Bautista solo shot and a two run homer from Juan Rivera (!) . That was all the runs we had on the day and all we needed.
Kyle Drabek had a good start, though he gave up a run in the 5th and 2 more in the 6th. He started the game with a walk and then a single. After that 12 straight outs. In all he went 6 innings, 5 hits, 3 earned, 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. He was helped out by a couple of double plays turned behind him.
Marc Rzepczynski, Jason Frasor and Jon Rauch finished out the game. Rauch gave up a lead off homer in the 9th, on a 0-2 count, just to make the game a little more interesting.
Jays of the Day are Patterson (.249 WPA), Drabek (.167) and Frasor Bautista (.127). Frasor gets an honorable mention. Chris Woodward got the suckage number, -.108, off an 0 for 4 with 2 k.
The two guys at the top of the order, who have been taking a beating around here lately, Corey Patterson and Yunel Escobar had 2 hits each. John McDonald hit a one out triple in the 3rd but was stranded there. Rivera has been hitting the ball hard the last few days, nice to see him get that homer.
Jesse Litsch gets the start tomorrow, hope he has a good one and he gets to stay with us for a while. Matt Harrison, 3-1, 1.88 goes for the Rangers. He has been helped along by the BABIP gods, 28.2 innings, 18 hits and 19 strikeouts.
