An afternoon game in Texas, good thing it is only April, it gets kind of warm there.
It has been a really nice series for our batters, so far. We have gone up against 3 starters, each of whom had been doing very well this year, until they met up with us.
Today's Ranger starter has had a great start to the season too, 3-0 with a 2.13 ERA and a .79 WHIP. Last year he was a rookie reliever and finished with a 1.30 ERA. He is also another that has been smiled on by the BABIP gods: in 25 innings he has struck out just 14 batters but has held batters to a .155 BABIP. That can't last forever. I'm hoping it won't last beyond today.
Brandon Morrow gets his second start of the year. He only struck out 10 batters in the 5.1 innings of his first start. Kind of disappointing really, there were 6 outs that weren't strikeouts. Fix that will you Brandon.
Lineups and all after the jump. Spoiler, no Yunel today. He's getting a day of rest. No I don't understand it either.
For whatever reason, the SB lineup widget still isn't working this season. I am going to have to edit the next confidence post, where I talk about the confidence I have in the SB techs to fix anything. Anyway new day, new lineup:
McCoy, 4
Patterson, 8
Bautista, 9
Lind, 3
Rivera, 0
Encarnacion, 5
Snider, 7
Molina, 2
McDonald, 6
Not exactly reminding you of the lineups we put out there in the early 80's.
Rangers:
Kinsler, 4
Andrus, 6
Young, 0
Beltre, 5
Cruz, 7
Moreland, 9
Napoli, 2
Davis, 3
Borbon, 8
A win would be nice.
Post title from the Jimmie Dale Gilmore song, Dallas, not that it relates all that much to this series, but generally obscure song references is Hugo's wheelhouse.
Anyway if you are around to watch today, join into the thread. As always keep it civil and let's win.
