Bautista is a monster - Gm 27 - Jays @ Yankees - GameThread

It has to be very frustrating to be the pitching coach on the teams that have to take on the Jays and more specifically Jose Bautista. You know he is going to pull the ball so you have to keep it out of the strike zone, but he doesn't chase anything and is more then happy to take a walk. Bautista has now set the Blue Jays record for most walks in a month, and it looks like it isn't going to stop anytime soon. He has been on base more then 1/2 of his plate appearances. That is insane! I am more surprised this month when he makes an out, that is unbelievable... Honestly watching Bautista at the plate is almost a reason to tune into the game all to itself. Crazy.

Today we get to take on our favorite former Jay whipping boy, A.J. Burnett. He takes on our young phenom Kyle Drabek. This is the second time already this season that this pitching matchup has happened. Last time out Burnett went 5.1 innings with 6Ks, 5BB 6Hs 3Rs (2 Earned), Drabek went 5.1IP with 2Ks 4BBs 6Hs 4ER. Let's hope that this time around the Jays can cash in a few more of those runners they were leaving on base the last time out.

Lineups!

Today's Line-up (4:07pm start): Davis-CF, Escobar-SS, Bautista-RF, Lind-1B, Rivera-LF, Cooper-DH, Encarnacion-3B, Molina-C, McCoy-2B

Jeter SS Granderson CF Teixeira 1b Cano 2b Swisher RF Chavez 3b Posada DH Martin C Gardner LF

Important notes: Despite yet another error in the field Edwin Encarnacion is back at 3rd base again today as David Cooper remains in the lineup. Jose Molina is back behind the plate to catch Drabek as per the regular platoon split. Mike McCoy takes over at 2nd base instead of John McDonald.

On the Yankees side, No Alex Rodriguez today, apparently it is just a regular day off for A-Rod who has played seven in a row, but it is nice to not have him in the middle of the lineup. Granted Robinson Cano is there now and he has just killed us anyways. Eric Chavez gets the call as the backup 3B.
