Another day, another game. The 162 marathon of a baseball season can really drag you done, but truth be told it is one of the reasons I really like the game. When I'm watching hockey and sometimes there is a week off between Leaf games (Insert your own Leafs joke here about them taking games off as well), I get bored, anxious and lose interest. I never really get the chance to do this in baseball. Now on the flip side of that it can get awful tiring watching the team perform poorly day in and day out as well.
Tonight in St Louis the Jays have Carlos Villanueva taking the mound, he continues to impress and as long as he keeps pitching like this it is going to make it hard to bump him from the rotation. Since he came from the National League he has faced the Cardinals before, he owns a 4.3 record with a 3.11 / 1.194 ERA and WHIP respectively. In the lineup Berkman has the most time against him having 20 PA, he has hit 2HR in that span and sports a .278/.350/.722 line against Carlos. Jaime Garcia goes the Cardinals as he continues to build on his strong year so far.
Lineup changes for the Jays include Hill getting bumped up to the 2 hole... not sure why exactly. Rivera is playing LF and JP Arencibia is behind home plate. Eric Thames after his good return to the majors takes a seat on the bench.
Keep it Civil and Go Jays Go
