Let's finish this like we started - July 17th 2011 - Yankees @ Jays Gamethread

Hey everybody! Long time no chat. Sorry I've been away for awhile I had family in town as well as some family issues to take care of. I want to thank the rest of the crew here at BBB for filling in with the gamethreads while I was away and I promise that the next podcast won't be too far off.

The Jays have played the Yankees hard in the first 3 games of the series and currently lead things 2 games to 1. It would be really nice to be able to take the series after losing the winning streak yesterday. A win today would make 6 in the last 7 for the Jays and a series win against the Yanks would be a great way to kick off the post all-star break session.

Carlos Villanueva takes the hill today and I am sure I am not the only one thinking that he can't have much more in the tank for the rest of the year. He has never thrown more then 114 innings and that was all the way back in 2007, he is already at 78 for the year and while he has filled in amazingly and better then anyone could have really expected I think we are going to have to face the music soon and see him get shut down or moved to the pen to ensure the team doesn't hurt the guy. The Jays are taking on Hughes who is making his 2nd start since coming back from injury/minors. Lets hope he still hasnt worked things out yet.

Still no Jose Bautista today, everyone keep those fingers crossed.
