Rauch Rage - July 3rd 2011 - Phillies @ Jays - Gamethread

I was at the game yesterday so a few thoughts. Before we move onto the game thread for today.

1. Rauch is a big scary man, the umpire had to have a thought of "oh crap"

2. Thames and Bautista swing hard, I can see this on TV. But in person its really visible

3. Never would have thought Villanueva would have made it as far as he did, looked horrible in the first

4. Don't like fans throwing stuff on the field, but in this situation the crowd was really fired up for what seemed like an another reason then lets just start something since its opening day. That was a good thing. The standing O at the start of the game was great and after that it was all cheering for the Jays. Quite proud of the crowd for how they handled cheering Halladay. Even at the end of the game when the announced the winning pitching the crowd stopped exiting the field for a moment to applaud him one last time.

5. Good energy in the crowd for most of the day, with a ton of Jays fans out (Lots of Phillies fans too but it wasn't like Boston/NY split)

All in all a fun game to be at even though the Jays lost. I picked up a new Bautista jersey and then got to watch him line drive one out of the park so that was fun. Hopefully the Jays can actually hit Lee today and salvage one win from this series, although with the run that he has been lately I am not holding my breathe for that.

For News, it appears as if the only Jay that is going to be at the all-star game is Jose Bautista. I would point out that it is likely that Romero should have been in the running, but there are a lot of good pitchers, still I think he should go. On the plus side, Jose Bautista has received the most votes in the history of all-star voting for ever, in the history of everything. Nice.
