Why can't all the parts of the team be working well at the same time? It seems like either our starting pitching is terrible or our bats come up missing or the defense or, of late, the bullpen forgets how to do the job. Last night Shawn Camp gives up 4 straight hits, though to be fair, 3 of them were ground balls and that's what Camp does, gets ground balls, sometimes they are going to miss the infielders.
Frank Francisco is harder to figure. I thought he was coming around, but apparently not. I don't know what you do with him now, if you were John Farrell. He's got to be the mopup guy for at least a week or two right? Luis Perez? Chalk it up to it not being the best of times to have a rookie out there. It was just a really bad pitch to Hafner.
I'm sure the bullpen will get it together again, then something else will fall apart.
It is nice to see the bats working. Glad to see a homer from Snider and what was almost a 2nd homer. Rajai Davis is a lot more fun to watch when he is hitting. He's had 6 stolen bases in the last week. I'd like him to take a few more walks, he's only got 8 this season, but hitting is better than not hitting. Yunel Escobar is hitting .485 over the past 2 weeks. Bautista is hitting.
I wasn't all for moving Jose back to 3rd but getting Nix out of the everyday lineup is worth it.
Lineups and all after the jump.
The title is from an old Steve Earle song. I saw Earle in concert a couple of weeks ago, I really enjoyed him, but what I came away with is that all guys should learn to play guitar. I mean, I enjoy his music and all but the guy looks like a troll. His wife is Alison Moore. She's tall, red head and about as good looking as you can get. Add in she has a great voice. As good a guy as Steve Earle might be, if he couldn't play guitar and write songs, he'd never get within 100 feet of her.
So guys, get yourself a guitar.
Anyway, as always, keep it Civil and Go Jays.
