Good Day Sunshine: GameThread - Jays @ Rays - August 4

Good Morning.

I guess the news is that Carlos Villanueva is having an MRI this morning. They don't expect there to be any damage but he is feeling fatigue in the arm. He has only had 1 strikeout a start for his last three starts. They are talking about Henderson Alvarez to make the start next time around. I'm surprised, I don't know why they would want to put him on the 40-man and use up an option on him when he's just made a handful of Double-A starts. Why not Jesse?

Day games haven't gone well for the Jays, 15-26 in day games. I tend to think it is just a random thing but it would be ok to start turning that around now. Perhaps the young guys just don't like getting up in the morning.

Nice to see JP in a hot streak. I'm guessing his thumb is better.
