We are Replacing Johnny with Ashton Kutcher: September 19 GameThread - Angels @ Jays

Johnny's lifestyle issues have finally caused us to replace him. Sorry Johnny.

The start of our last home series of the season and Vernon is back in town.

The surprising news is that Eric Thames is playing today, I figured they would give him the day off, even if all were good after fouling a ball off his face yesterday. I really don't see the downside to giving him the day off. With him in, we have our usual lineup, except Edwin is playing first and Lind is DH. Well, that and Yunel is still out. Mike McCoy is leading off. I don't understand why either.

As well as the Blue Jay game, we'll have some interest in the Orioles/Red Sox game. After game one of their day/night double header, the Sox our just a game and a half ahead of the Rays for the Wild Card spot. It is likely there will be a few runs scored in that game, the Orioles have Brian Matusz with a 9.84 ERA in 10 starts. How does a guy get 10 starts giving up more than a run an inning? John Lackey hasn't been all that much better, 6.19 ERA in 26 starts.

Mariano Rivera got save number 602, making him the all time save leader. I was curious how many blown saves he has but didn't start counting blown saves until 1999, by that point Rivera already had 84 saves. Since 1999 he has 54 blown saves with 518 saves. A pretty great percentage.
