Dan Haren: Now A Free Agent, Where Will He Land?
Early Friday evening, there were various reports from reputable sources that the Angels and the Cubs have confirmed a trade that would have sent Carlos Marmol to Los Angeles in exchange for Dan Haren. However, the Cubs pulled the deal at the last minute for an unknown reason. Unable to complete another trade in the few hours after the annulment, the Angels opted to simply decline Haren's option and make him a free agent.

Dan Haren Goes To The Cubs... Maybe?
Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos stated in his season-ending press conference that starting pitching was a major concern for the club, but Dan Haren will not be helping that cause as the Chicago Cubs have acquired the former Angel.
