That puts the Jays at 12-2 on the spring.
Another good day for our pitchers, they threw a 2-hitter against the Rays who started several of their regulars today:
- Romero: 4 innings, 2 walks, 4 strikeouts, 5 ground outs, no fly outs. Still at a 0 ERA on the spring.
- Jenkins: 3 innings, 2 hits, 3 strikeouts. 1.13 ERA.
- Frasor: 1 inning, 1 k. 5.40.
- Carpenter: 1 inning, 1 k. 2.25.
And a good day for our bats too. We had 11 hits, only 1 walk but spring is time to get the timing of the swing down. As we get closer to the start of the season I'd expect more walks.
- Escobar: 2 for 3, double. .250.
- Johnson: 0 for 3, 2 k. .217.
- Bautista: 1 for 2, RBI, k. .368.
- Lind: 0 for 3, k. .286.
- Encarnacion: 0 for 3, k. .296.
- Lawrie: 1 for 1, steal. .609. He left the game with "groin tightness", but shouldn't miss much time.
- Rasmus: 1 for 3, k. .227.
- Arencibia: 2 for 3, 2 RBI. .227.
- Snider: 2 for 3, home run, RBI, k. .333. Nice game for Travis.
Tomorrow the Jays have a split squad games, both on the road. Both on MLB TV. They play the Braves and the Phillies.
