Well, It is finally here. 2012 opening day where everyone is tied for first, optimism is high and everyone is primed for a breakout year. You may say "But Johnny, wasn't their a game last night and a couple last week in Japan? So technically not everyone is tied for first". I would reply that is a very astute observation and ask you to close your eyes as I quietly reach for the banhammer.
The Jays are opening up the year in Cleveland this year against Justin Masterson and the Indians. I would encourage everyone to read Woodman's post below as it was a great primer on the type of pitcher the Jays will be facing today. On the other end of line we have Ricky Romero starting for the Jays. I really don't think we need to say much more then that. Ricky proved he deserves the label of ace of the Jays staff last year and looks to start out the year right against the injured riddled Indians.
A few housekeeping items for today's thread and likely subsequent overflow threads.
- Please do not link to any illegal streams in the thread. Doing so will result in your comment being removed and a warning issued.
- Please respect our posting guidelines. Linked here. If you are warned by a moderator or manager please don't argue, you can get tossed. I like hitting that big shiny ban button, please don't give me a reason to.
- We are likely to get a lot of traffic today, so I am requesting that we lay off the GIF's and large image files until the game ends and we have an afterparty type of thread up.
Tune in after the jump for lineups and series information.
Remember to keep it civil
