Lansing 4 - Dayton 2
Marcus Walden pitched 6 innings of 2-hit shutout ball and Kenny Wilson hit a two-run HR to help defeat the the Dayton Dragons. While Walden's season ERA looks rather sparkling at 2.15, his FIP tells a different tale of a man who has gotten rather lucky thus far. He's a bit old for Lo-A which he is repeating this year though it appears he missed nearly all of 2009 with what I assume was a major injury. He's lived and died by the ground ball in his minor league career thus far and his impressively unsustainable 3.76 GO/AO rate has been his saving grace in 2012 thus far.

Las Vegas 5 - New Orleans 3 (11 inn.)
The 51s capped a perfect night on the farm by collecting a win in Louisiana. Hechavarria and Gose had ugly 0-fers on the evening so the offence relied upon Travis... d'Arnaud, David Cooper, and Moises Sierra who each went 2 for 5. d'Arnaud hit a solo home run, his 4th of the season, and former Blue Jays product Robert Ray walked in two runs in the 11th to give the 51s the lead that they would not relinquish. Travis Snider entered the game late but still failed to record a hit in two plate appearances. Robert Ray intentionally walked him to set up the two run-scoring walks. Brilliant strategy.
Travis d'Arnaud - 2-5 - 2 R, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K
.266/.336/.406 - .742 OPS
David Cooper - 2-5 - 1R, 1 K
