West Michigan 5 - Lansing 1

The Lugnuts dropped a game with West MIchigan 5-1 which was highlighted prospect-wise by Chris Hawkins and Andrew Burns. Burns went 2 for 4 with a double and a strikeout; Hawkins also went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Over his last 10 games, Burns, an 11th round draft pick from 2011, is hitting .433/.485/.867 for a monstrous OPS of 1.352. He is still yet to be caught stealing this season and is 4 for 4 in his attempts so far. Chris Hawkins, who started the year on fire, has cooled significantly. Over his last ten he's hitting just .244/.244/.293 for an unimpressive .537 OPS. Hopefully, he regains his form soon and gets right back to pleasing the scouts. Noah Syndergaard got his usual 3.0 innings despite his peers including his piggyback partner Anthony DeSclafani having all been bumped up to 4.0 innings per start already. The big Texan flamethrower gave up an earned run on 2 hits and a walk while collecting 3 strikeouts. He kept West Michigan on the ground 2.00 GO/AO. His partner had a better night going 4.0 innings giving up 3 hits and 1 walk while collecting 5 strikeouts.

If I'm doing it right, his FIP is 3.05 for the season.
