I used the off day to take my boys to see Batman. I liked it, not loved it, but liked it. I would have rather Bane didn't have to deliver his lines through one of those Darth Vader voice changer things. I think I understood about half of what he said. It did surprise me when he said to Batman 'Bruce, I am your father'. There was a little bit too much of the characters doing long monologues when a bit of action was in order. I'd give an example but I'd like to avoid spoilers.

Back to baseball, what a difference a few days make. After the Yankee's series, we were told the 'season's over'. Then a series sweep over the Red Sox and people are trying to jump on the band wagon again. A loss tonight and they'll be jumping off again.

It is a big start for Brett Cecil. With J.A. Happ sitting in the bullpen, waiting for a shot at getting into the rotation. I sure hope the Jays didn't trade for Happ to have him pitch middle relief.

Tonight's starters:

No Gose in against the lefty again. I am thinking that Gose isn't quite ready for the big leagues yet. Or at least his bat isn't. He is 1 for 11 now, and that one really was more a mistake by the pitcher. He does have 2 walks, but 5 strikeouts.

Travis Snider is 4 for 11, with a double and homer. He has a walk and a sac fly, with 5 strikeouts as well. Small sample sizes on both.

It is going to be a tough series, the A's are on a 5 game win streak, including a sweep of the Yankees. It should be a fun series.

You guys know the rules.

  1. No pictures or GIFs until the game ends.
  2. No talk about illegal video streams.
  3. Don't argue with the mods. Sometimes we are in bad moods.
  4. Try not to be terrible.

Go Jays.
