Blue Jays Roster Move: Mike McCoy Called Up, David Carpenter Sent Down

Our regularly scheduled Roster Move post, the Blue Jays have called up Mike McCoy and sent David Carpenter back to Vegas.

We need another bat on the bench with Colby out day-to-day and McCoy knows the way from Vegas to Toronto by heart.

McCoy was batting .278/.384/.349 for the 51's, with 21 stolen bases in 84 games. I wouldn't unpack Mike, you know the drill, but I'm glad you'll be getting major league pay for a little bit. I really like McCoy, I'd rather have him on the team than Omar Vizquel. But Omar has the veteran card and he's playing it.

Carpenter, well he was the 8th guy in the pen and he pitched tonight, badly, so it was the obvious choice to go down. I'm sure we'll see him again. We can't go more than 2 or 3 days without getting back to that 8 man bullpen.

See you tomorrow with tomorrow's roster move. I really think we should have a sponsor for these roster move posts. Some moving company want to pony up a few dollars to get a daily mention on the site?
