We are off on holiday early tomorrow morning, taking a bit of a break from the day to day stuff. A few days in Vancouver and then a week in Fernie BC, doing very little. I'll look in here on occasion and the other members of our band will step forward and take some solos, but if you have a fan post that you are just itching to write, the next couple of weeks would be a good time to do so. I'll likely be able to front page fanposts, while on holiday.
Apparently we are picking up Yorvit Torrealba. I have no real idea why. I guess he'd be handy for the rest of this year, but I doubt he'd make much of a difference to our win/loss record. Here is his batting line for this season:
He has hit better in the past. Maybe he could be a decent backup catcher in the future.
Mike Cormack had this from Farrell:
— Mike Cormack (@MikeCormack) August 14, 2012
#bluejays skipper Farrell on whether d'Arnaud might return in Sept: "No." On whether he's OK with Mathis' heavy workload: "Yes."
The Jays are after Yorvit Torrealba, apparently. And we've signed Jeff Mathis for 2 years plus an option. So all sorts of backup catcher news.
Lineups after the jump
I really don't get McCoy in CF over Gose. Gose should be playing everyday if he is up and never should be sitting in favor of Mike McCoy. Beyond that, I don't get McCoy in CF over Davis, really. If that is the pairing, I'd switch them, and I'm not a fan of Davis' glove. But it would be better in CF than McCoy. Makes no sense.
Starting pitchers:
The usual rules must be followed (read that in a bad movie German accent). And, if you want to troll us, use a more interesting description than to call people sheep. It is boring, come up with something interesting. You will be graded.
I'm still using lyrics for Suicide is Painless for the thread title. We won yesterday
I'll remind you all that you can follow us on Twitter or like us on Facebook and Go Jays.
