8/14 - Blue Jays MiLB Recap: McGuire goes the distance for the F-Cats!

Deck McGuire, Aaron Sanchez and Alberto Tirado all had impressive starts, Drabek and Carreno were impressive in relief.

Buffalo Bisons (65-60)

The Bisons played against the Rochester Red Wings yesterday and took an 8-3 win as they stormed back against the Red Wings late, scoring seven runs in their last three half innings. Former Blue Jay Darin Mastroianni was in the Red Wings lineup for this one, he played CF and batted 9th, he went 0-2 with a walk and two strikeouts. Mastroianni is in Rochester for the last stop on his rehab assignment, in that rehab stint he has hit just .161/.308/.226 in three levels. With the Bisons win yesterday they hopped over the Norfolk Tides and still sit half a game back of the Wild Card in the International League behind the Pawtucket Red Sox.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats (58-63)

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats played the New Britain Rock Cats yesterday and had a 7-2 victory thanks to a big 6th inning in which they scored four in the inning. New Hampshire now sits in third place in the Eastern League Eastern division, they are currently six and a half games out of a playoff spot.

Dunedin Blue Jays (59-57)

Dunedin played against the Lakeland Flying Tigers yesterday and took a 5-0 win, as they jumped all over Lakeland starter and former Blue Jay Octavio Dotel early who was making a start in his rehab assignment. Dunedin still sits in second place in their division and of course have their automatic bye into the playoffs as they were the first half champs.

Lansing squared off against the West Michigan Whitecaps yesterday in Midwest League action and took a 6-2 win as they outhit their opponents 12-4 in this one and struck very early with a five run 2nd inning. Lansing currently sits second last in their division and are twenty-three games back of first place.

The Canadians won by a score of 10-1 yesterday as they stomped the Everett AquaSox, the Canadians scored early, and often in this one, they outhit the AquaSox 15-3. The Canadians now sit one game back of the AquaSox in their division thanks to this victory.
