We have a sort of playoff game tonight, the Rays and the Rangers tied for the second wild card spot, so they get to have a game 163 this season.
This morning, Minor Leaguer put up a poll asking who you thought would win the game, and 55% of us believe the Rangers will take the game. I can't say I have a favorite. I'll admit that Buck and Pat put me off the Rays with their constant drooling over them, during our season ending series. I think the last straw was them going on and on about what a genius Joe Maddon was to get himself ejected in the 7th inning. If he is such a genius, wouldn't he be more important in dugout than sitting by himself in the clubhouse?
But then, I'm not really a fan of the Rangers either. A.J. Pierzynski is a jerk and I'm not exactly thrilled with the suspension of Nelson Cruz ending just in time for this tie breaker game. So, I'm an impartial observer.
Anyway, tonight's pitchers are:
for the Rays. Price hasn't pitched against the Rangers this season. In his career he is 1-4 with a 5.98 ERA in 8 starts against them.
And:
for the Rangers. Perez hasn't pitched against the Rays this season, last year he went 5 innings in his one start against the Rays last year, allowing 2 earned.
So there are two former Jays in the Rays lineup, Escobar and Molina. Â And there is one former Jay in the Rangers lineup, everyone's favorite, Alex.
Since ML asked who you thought would win, why don't I ask you who you would like to see win. Who are you going to cheer for tonight.
The quote above is from former US President Gerald Ford.
I thought we had someone to put these up for us. Obviously, payment will have to be withheld.
