This is a new one:
Sources: #BlueJays considering free agent Alberto Callaspo for 2B. View him as potential buy-low, bounce-back candidate.

He didn't have a very good season in 2014, hitting .223/.290/.290 but career is much better, .267/.330/.370. UZR doesn't like his defense, he's a -9.0/150 career. I'd like to think we could do better.
Maicer Izturis looks like just as good an option, at least to me. Callaspo is 31, a switch hitter. And he's, at least until last year, always been able to get on base, but I'd like better defense. He's a little guy, listed about 5'9" but likely a couple of inches short of that. Fangraphs has his best season as 2011 with a 3.5 WAR, I have my doubts he'll be doing that again.
I'm sure he'd come cheap. So there is that, and maybe just be a stop gap for Devon Travis, giving the team a chance to let Travis start the season in Buffalo.
